Cape D’or is located just outside Advocate Harbour on route 209 which takes you from Parrsboro to River Hebert. Cape D’or is on a high rocky coast over looking the point where The Bay of Fundy and the Minas Basin meet.
An old lighthouse station which is now a tourist site where you can stay in the old Lighthouse keepers house or have a meal at the restaurant. The site is 6 klms up and over a gravel road from Advocate Harbour, it might seem like a long drive but it is worth it. A note of caution when walking the trail around the top of the area, make sure children are kept from climbing the railings the cliffs are high and steep, also keep back from the edge on the lower section too.
We went in August and the drive was pleasant, we camped at Five Islands Provincial Park in Five Islands on Highway 2, we left the camping park at about 10am and slowly drove stopping in places like Parrsboro, where we had a great lunch, Spencers Island and Advocate Harbour and were back at our Campsite at 6pm.
Here are some of the photos we took on this trip
