Local media reported In 1990 Halifax was developing a new business park in the west end of the city, during this time a man named Jack McNab contacted local media about some old walls that were in the business park area, his act helped to preserve and protect the area around the walls. This area is now a protected under the Special Places Protection Act.
I had heard of these walls but had never ventured in to find them, so it was time to head out to see these walls. We knew the area of woods they were in but not exactly where they were, though it turned out to be a fairly small wooded area between the highway and the business park, some of what we were seeking remained elusive to us. We had to make a 3 trips in to actually find all the parts we had seen in other peoples videos and stories.
The terrain in these woods is hilly with some steep areas, we approached from and parked on Lovett Lake Drive, then headed in an old roadway just behind the Metro Self Storage building.

It took us 3 trips in the fall to find the walls and the staircase. It’s in a wonderful wooded area high above this section of the business park. there are a few different pathways that you can discover while walking in the area.
